Strategic consulting considers internal and external factors and aspects. This includes trends and technologies affecting business models enabling firms to improve their competitive advantage. Further, external factors and aspects are compared with internal factors / capabilities of firms. Thereby, we differentiate between a strategic level, a governance level, and an operational level (see also Strategy Consulting). For that analysis we use well known tools such as PorterĀ“s 5-Forces or the SWOT analysis.
